Tuna Fish

If I could eat tuna all the time I think I would. Alas, I cannot - I could only take so many cans back with me in my suitcase before TSA starts to become suspicious. That's a joke, I had to fit in my OTHER stuff too! But seriously. Tuna with a little mayo, relish, pepper, olive oil, salt, and red pepper flakes. Really you can add almost anything to tuna and it will taste good. Is it weird that I'm blogging about tuna? I don't think so. Why am I blogging about tuna? Because it's been my lunch/ snack (and it's pretty healthy!) and I just crave it all the time. Like right now, even though it's like 9 in the morning. The power of tuna. Just make sure to chew gum after. :)

Winter Activities Are Just Better In The Cold

It's true. There's just something about winter activities that are better when done in an actual cold environment than in 80 degree weather. Yes, I've heard Santa Barbara, you're weather has been 'nice'. Well MY weather has been wintery AND I get to see the sun.

Some fun updates for those back home...

My new Toms (along with about 10 other packages) FINALLY came after a rather complicated order, return, and reshipping. They're not as fantastic as the original ones I ordered (which they were out of by the time by return was processed), but they fit this time, they are comfortable (as always), and they support a great cause. So even though I will NEVER order online from them again, I will certainly continue my patronage via their retailers. Because, let's face it, ONE for ONE is a great cause that can save lives. If you don't know what I'm talking about then click here, because it's a cause I fully support.

In other news, I got to go ice skating yesterday. It was a lot of fun, though I am certainly out of practice. But hey! I only fell once, and despite a potentially bruised tailbone (again), it's all good.

Kellyn on her brand new ice-skates!

Maria owns her own pair as well - fancy New Englander friends.

Don't be fooled, we were tired as ice-skating is apparently a good workout.

Working Days

Yesterday was my first day of official work.

Super cute right? I think I did well considering the shirt practically goes down to my knees.

Work was fun though. It wasn't that hard, the people were nice, and I feel like I met a bunch of new people. Overall, successful work environment. Plus, it's really only 2 days a week. So hopefully I can handle this along with all the other activities I have planned for my weeks.

Here's to hoping!

Worker, Worker Bee

Hello friends and family, congratulate me, I have my first (official) job and it's right here at Gordon College. I even get a super cute uniform. That's a little sarcastic. But I'm still really excited to be.... serving food in our cafeteria, Lane. Sounds fun right? Actually I don't think it will be that bad, I'm even a little excited. See?

That is the hat. It's pretty cool right? I hope I get to keep it, even if it is a little big.

It even has our snazzy Gordon College logo on it. Bam!

Reasons for getting myself a job:
1. Mostly so that I can get a job in the summer and put THIS job on my resume.
2. I get paid. Welcome to minimum wage world. Dang it.... if I had a car I could totally make more money babysitting. On the other hand.... kids aren't my thing.
Ok, 3. I only work 2 days a week. Really 1 and 1/2. I work Fridays and every other Saturday - so really, it's not too bad.
4. I might meet new awesome people who also work in Lane.
5. I GET to work Fridays. Didn't think that would be a reason DID you? Well it's true, then I don't have to stress about homework due the next day. Smart right? I think so.

Those are pretty much my reasons and I think they're pretty good ones. Plus, it's not like the job is hard. And (shhh) I'm pretty sure I get to take free food after as left overs. Score.

Here's a normal picture for the family too even though I've only been away for about a week - but I know you miss my face. :)

Other updates? Nothing really significant. I have been going to the gym and starting to get in a regular routine for my days. I try to go to bed early, I'm making some new friends, and overall this semester has been a lot better than the last, maybe because homework isn't so bad yet? I probably just jinxed that. Or it really could just be because I don't have Philosophy anymore. HA! Take that Philosophy and I'll take that passing grade as I smirk at NEVER having to take that again.

Bracelets Among Friends

Friendship bracelets are making a come back. Since when? Since I said so. Watch, it'll be the next big thing. Just like Moon Boots.

Like them? Friendship bracelets have gotten an upgrade since you've last seen them. They're back: thicker, international, and with handy button locks - so they don't fall off anymore and you don't have to fuss with tying them. Bam. I've solved a first world problem. It really works and it couldn't be more easy.

Winter Whites.

Sorry that I haven't posted in a million days. I've been so busy enjoying my last week of break, packing, unpacking, and enjoying being back at school that I've let my blog posting duties go by. But excuses, excuses... I know. I do have this to say in my defense though...

Now would you rather be outside in this or typing up blog posts on a computer?

Especially when you have these babies to romp around in. Moon Boots. They're coming back people and I'm on the leading edge - ever since 7th grade. See? I was super styling back then too. However, I'm pretty sure this color is no longer sold? Anyhow, I knew what was up back then. And how can you not feel cool in these?! Practical, waterproof, and warm. Done.

Besides having fun with my Moon Boots I've just been enjoying this. Wow. Isn't it fantastic? I never thought that I would get to LIVE in this kind of climate - but don't hold me to my enthusiasm come the snow melt. I might be slightly less excited when there's slush everywhere. But I don't know why, really I'll have no problem in my cool shoes...

Ingrid from El Salvador & Krystal from SB
Don't be fooled, we're freezing.

Luckily we get to study inside AND enjoy the view :)

And I promise that now that I'm back in school and fully functioning the blog posting will resume to normal. Lucky you all.

Back and Better

Hi all. I was actually back on Thursday from my adventures in LA. However, also on Thursday I was sick. Like, really sick. So you'll have to excuse my lack of posts, seeing as I really couldn't even get out of bed. Anyways, I'm still not completely up to par so please enjoy these pics of a recent visit to Zodos con mis amigas. :)

Gone Fishin'

Okay, not really, that's a lie. I've really gone to LA to visit some cousins and take over Disneyland. Be back Friday blog world.

(And for those of you who don't know - LA is essentially the opposite of fishing.)

More Presents

I have so many favorite presents this year it justifies a whole post.

Jacket. No explanation, just look at my face. I think I've worn it every single day.

Coolest Ravenclaw scarf ever, (Kellyn, I know you're jealous) with hidden "R" and Raven.

Sonic giftcard.

Headlamp.

There were many more generous gifts this year but these stood out in a league of their own. Thank you all :)
