Birthday Time!

Last Sunday we celebrated the first birthday of our hall!

This is Joy...

... to stall I did her hair for here. Decent right?

Then we decided to be reverse racist and took a white girls picture. Notice how I'm only 1/2 in it? Yeah. Apparently the photographer thought it would be funny. I've only known these people for a few weeks and we're already making racist jokes about each other.

Sunsets & Sandcastles

A story of yesterday, complete with pictures. Our Gordon Campus Events Council (CEC) put on a fun event yesterday! They provided the shuttles to a wonderful beach...

that was very picturesque...

and green...

and we built a sandcastle for the sand castle competition: but not just me, there were 4 others :)

actually it was more like a sand city. note the moat with goldfish, our fortress, the surrounding village, and our agricultural-communal land plot. Also, we made a drawbridge so....

we're pretty much the best dorm ever. E1E!!!

and we support LOVE...

and beautiful sunsets...

therefore we won the sandcastle building competition!

and so now, i have a fish called Edmund III.

Avocados

Because we can... we're trying to grow avocados! Well, not really. Because avo's are finicky plants. But we're taking avo pits and trying to make sprouts grow out of them!

The Set Up

Me, Steph, & McKenzie

And viola! Done! Hopefully something will sprout. And yes, you are very lucky blog readers, 2 posts in one day! Do you know how rare that is in the blog world? Very. Expect more tomorrow! Because, let's just face it, I'm just that interesting.

Bringing Board Games Back

Have you ever played The Settlers of Catan? You should. I've played all of 2 times and I'm addicted. Really, it's THAT good.

And really, what else is a college student going to do on a Friday night?

Recently...

My shutterfly package came this weekend!

That means decorating time! Looking more like my room at home more and more, though a few more necessities are still missing. Regardless, much better than blank space accentuated by the white bedspread.

see....?

Some hall mates and I took the shuttle to the mall...

and loaded up on Target goodies.

No, this is not all my stuff! Only the special K cereal is actually mine, more on dining hall food another time. And speaking of day trips, yesterday we got a friend of a friend to give us a ride and went to the rather large mall nearby.

There's a funny story to this actually, all these clothes were for one person essentially but, as you're only allowed 6 clothes in at a time, we recruited and threw clothing across the dressing room's for the better part of an hour.

And then last night we made a hall dinner! All of this looks a little interesting granted, but it was so yummy! And so much better than the dining hall. :)

And that was my Labor Day. How was yours?
